How to get there

All the participants should arrive at the railway station (polish: Dworzec PKP) in Zawiercie by 16.00 on the 9th of July. The SU will finish on the 22nd of July in Krakow.
If you know that you will not be able to arrive on this date/on time please send Mateusz Zapart - the incoming responsible - an email as soon as possible. Remember that the majority of the organizers will be spending the day before the SU begins at the camp and won't be able to respond to any of your emails during that time. Use your phone instead - you will be provided with our cell phone numbers.
I. A short guide on how to get from the Katowice Airport (Pyrzowice) to Zawiercie.
1. What means of transport to chose?
- don't even try to take a TAXI /unless you've got money to burn/ - the airport is some 20km from the city and taxi drivers will try to rip you off/
- the buses are a great alternative though. There should be at least one, run by local government owned bus company, going to Katowice every 1,5 hours, it costs around 5 euro /20 zlotys/. Smaller companies also have buses/minibuses going into the city center.... so finding one should not be a problem.

PKS - to ZAWIERCIE via SIEWIERZ (it’s the easiest way and least complicated way to get to Zawiercie from the airport) (As the service is being run by PKS it shouldn't cost more than a few euros)

Remember that the last bus leaves to Katowice from the airport at 00.30 and arrives at the railway station at 01.20. The problem is that the last train to Zawiercie leaves at 00:58 and unless you manage to find something that gets you there earlier you'll miss the train. /FYI the next train leaves at 04:33 / All of them will get you straight to Zwiercie
2. Where do I go from the airport?
- the main railway station in Katowice (polish: Dworzec PKP) (it's a big ugly concrete building from the seventies.... hard to miss) - almost all buses going from the airport stop there. You'll find photos showing how the station and it's surroundings look like in the links below.

3. What do I do at the railway station?
- you'll need to buy a train ticket to a town called Zawiercie, the trains run ever hour or so... a 2 class ticket costs 2 euros (9 zlotys) - the trip takes around an hour.

4. In Zawiercie
One of the organizers will be waiting for you at the railway station in Zawiercie. The town's main bus station (Dworzec PKS) is right next to it.
II. Getting to Zawiercie from the Krakow (Balice) Airport
Once at the airport there are two "really easy" ways to get to Zawiercie. Both involve the main railway station in Krakow (Kraków G3ówny - Dworzec PKP).
1. There is a train service from a station near the terminal in Balice (costs 1,5 euro).
There are two tables on the website below. One labeled "Balice przystanek PKP (godziny odjazdów)" shows the trains departure times to the main railway station in Krakow (Krakow Glowny).
